Council of State president Panagiotis Pikramenos will head the caretaker government until the election to be held  17, June.
ND leader A. Samaras and PASOK leader E. Venizelos proposed Lucas Papademos as interim prime-minister and SYRIZA leader proposed  Gerasimos  Arsenis.

French President Francois Hollande and German chancellor Angela Merkel  gave a joint press interview in Berlin late on Tuesday .
They referred to Greece and both leaders underlined that they want Greece to remain in the euro. Greece belongs in the EU and the eurozone said Mrs. Merkel while Mr. Hollande said that Greeks should be allowed to find solutions . Both leaders promised to respect the government emerging from elections.

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Shauble, in his statements on Wednesday, objected again to any changes in the terms of the memorandum, underlining  “we can not re-negotiate  the European Union, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund terms for Greece.

Wolfgang Shauble repeated that Europeans want Greece to remain in the eurozone, but this depends on the decision of the sovereign Greek  People.

The next tranche of Greece’s bailout program will be released regardless of election results, said the vice-president of the European Investment Bank, former  deputy chancellor and Finance Minister of Austria  European Investment Bank, former  deputy chancellor and Finance Minister of Austria  Wilhem Molterer, in an interview with Austrian newspaper. It seems, however, that the release of the next tranches will depend on the stance of the next government.
