The impressive 2.48-meter-high statue known as The Kore of Thera returns triumphantly to its original home, now taking pride of place in the brand-new Archaeological Museum of Thera. In a fully renovated and technologically modernized setting, visitors are invited to embark on a unique tour experience where the past enters into dialogue with the present. At the heart of the museum’s new narrative is the emblematic exhibition Kykladitisses, featuring 180 masterpieces that recount the small and great stories of women from the Cyclades—women of the everyday and the sacred, the earthly and the symbolic—in a deeply human and universal context.
In an exclusive interview, the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni discusses the Ministry’s strategy for the museums of the Greek islands, the dynamic integration of artificial intelligence into museum design, and the issue of the return of the Parthenon Marbles.
