Hazardous and Unhealthy

In October 1944, in the mountainous region of Euboea, a resistance fighter named Balis, through a daring act, saved 70 hostages from a German firing squad. As a result of this heroic deed, the hostages were spared, but Balis himself was wounded and fell into the Great Ravine. Believing him to be dead, and as a sign of gratitude, the villagers erected a statue in his honor in the village square.

Thirty years later, Balis happens to find himself in that same village and discovers the monument dedicated to him. However, an unpleasant surprise awaits him: when the villagers in the local coffeehouse hear his name, they react with hostility, and the local authorities, after beating him, throw him into a cell…
