For the fourth consecutive year, Nikos Portokaloglou and Rena Morfi welcome distinguished artists, listen to their stories, reminisce about their best songs, and breathe new life into music!
Today: “The Music Box of Manos Loizos”
We welcome Vasilis Papakonstantinou, Vicky Karatzoglou and Maria Papageorgiou to honor one of our top composers through stories and songs, Manos Loizos.
The evening is dedicated to the great composer who left us a great legacy even though he left early. Manos Loizos was a multifaceted case of a composer who wrote from militant political songs to romantic ballads and from art and rock to folk songs. In his twenty-year musical career he wrote some of the best Greek songs, collaborating with lyricists Giannis Negrepontis, Fontas Ladis, Manolis Rasoulis, Dimitris Christodoulou and Lefteris Papadopoulos. His songs, full of lyricism and tenderness, were performed by great names of Greek song, such as George Dalaras, Haris Alexiou, Giannis Poulopoulos, Giannis Parios, Maria Farantouri, Stelios Kazantzidis and other great performers.
