Το «Αμοργόραμα» στη «Βάρδια Σαββάτου»

Το Σάββατο 6 Σεπτεμβρίου 2025, στις 08:00 ώρα Ελλάδας, η εκπομπή «Καλές Θάλασσες – Βάρδια Σαββάτου» με τον Αντώνη Καραγιαννάκη φιλοξενεί τους βασικούς συντελεστές του «Αμοργοράματος»: Την Άννυ Μητροπούλου, εκτελεστική διευθύντρια του Cyclades Preservation Fund (CPF), τον Στέφανο Καλογήρου, επίκουρο καθηγητή στο Γεωπονικό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών, τον Μιχάλη Κρόσμαν, πρόεδρο του Επαγγελματικού Αλιευτικού Συλλόγου Αμοργού «Η Χοζοβιώτισσα», τον Λευτέρη Καραΐσκο, δήμαρχο Αμοργού και την Άντζελα Λάζου Dean, επικεφαλής των θαλάσσιων προγραμμάτων στην Ελλάδα για το Blue Marine Foundation.
Το «Αμοργόραμα» αποτελεί μια πρωτοποριακή και μοναδική για τα ευρωπαϊκά δεδομένα πρωτοβουλία που ξεκίνησαν οι ψαράδες της Αμοργού, δείχνοντας τον δρόμο για το μέλλον των θαλασσών μας, της αλιείας, αλλά και της επισιτιστικής ασφάλειας των επόμενων γενεών.
Στην εκπομπή συζητάμε για το Προεδρικό Διάταγμα, με το οποίο ρυθμίζεται η αλιεία στην παράκτια ζώνη της Αμοργού. Το διάταγμα θα τεθεί σε εφαρμογή από τον προσεχή Νοέμβριο. Όπως προβλέπει, απαγορεύεται για πέντε χρόνια η αλιεία, ερασιτεχνική ή επαγγελματική με οποιοδήποτε μέσο και εργαλείο για όλη τη διάρκεια του χρόνου, στην περιοχή των Καταπόλων και στις νησίδες Γραμβούσα και Νικουριά, καθώς επίσης και από την 1η Απριλίου έως τις 31 Μαΐου κάθε έτους σε όλη τη θαλάσσια ζώνη περιμετρικά της Αμοργού, μέχρι απόσταση 1,5 μιλίου από τις ακτές.
Να σημειωθεί ότι με την «παύση» της αλιείας στο τέλος της άνοιξης, οι ψαράδες του νησιού χρησιμοποιούν τα καΐκια τους και εθελοντικά καθαρίζουν από τα σκουπίδια δυσπρόσιτες παραλίες του νησιού.

“Amorgorama” on “Saturday Shift”

On Saturday, 6 September 2025, at 08:00 AM, the Voice of Greece program “Fair Winds and Following Seas” with Antonis Karagiannakis will host the key contributors to “AMORGORAMA” – Anny Mitropoulou, Executive Director of the Cyclades Preservation Fund (CPF); Stefanos Kalogirou, Assistant Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens; Michalis Krosman, President of the Professional Fishing Association of Amorgos “Chozoviotissa”; Lefteris Karaiskos, Mayor of Amorgos; and Angela Lazou Dean, Head of Marine Programs in Greece at the Blue Marine Foundation
The discussion will focus on the Presidential Decree recently published in the Greek Government Gazette (FEK 73A), which regulates fishing in Amorgos’ coastal zone. The Decree, which will come into effect this November, stipulates a five-year ban on fishing, whether recreational or professional, with any method or gear: Starting this November, all fishing—amateur or professional, with any method or tool - will be prohibited for five years, year-round, in the area of Katapola and around the islets of Gramvousa and Nikouria. Furthermore, every year from April 1 to May 31, a full ban will apply across the entire marine zone surrounding Amorgos, up to 1.5 nautical miles from the coast.
During this seasonal pause, the island’s fishermen turn their boats into tools of care, volunteering to clean remote beaches of Amorgos from litter and waste.
This milestone is the outcome of an arduous, collective effort that lasted 11 years, until the State finally adopted the idea envisioned by the fishermen and residents of Amorgos.
